Courses — BHMS and MD (Hom.), year by year and department by department

Courses is where the two degrees that run through our college network are laid out side by side: the BHMS degree, year by year, and MD (Hom.), department by department.

BHMS — the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery — runs five and a half years, including a compulsory internship, at the twelve colleges of our Uttar Pradesh network, all affiliated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur. Each year of the course has its own page here, and each subject within that year has its own room beneath it — so a First Professional student and a Third Professional student are each looking at study material shaped for their own year, not a single undifferentiated list. The page for each year is written and reserved on its own, separate from this overall header.

MD (Hom.) is a three-year postgraduate degree, studied by department rather than by year. The National Commission for Homoeopathy recognises seven specialities: Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine with Homoeopathic Philosophy, Repertory and Case Taking, Homoeopathic Pharmacy, Practice of Medicine, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. Within our own network, as published by the colleges themselves, the offerings vary by college: Naiminath Homoeopathic Medical College, Agra offers MD across six of the seven departments; State Lal Bahadur Shastri Homoeopathic Medical College, Prayagraj offers MD in Materia Medica; State Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College, Kanpur runs an MD programme; and State National Homoeopathic Medical College, Lucknow admits MD batches, with its full department list being confirmed directly with the college. Other colleges’ MD offerings will be added here as their own notifications confirm them — nothing is listed on assumption.

Each speciality, like each BHMS year, has its own room: the pieces written for it, and the colleges in our network where it’s actually offered. That’s a deliberate choice — a course page should tell you where a subject is taught, not just that it exists somewhere in the curriculum.

Most of the year rooms and speciality rooms beneath this page are still quiet, and each one says so honestly when you open it rather than showing an empty list with no explanation. A room lights up — becomes searchable, appears properly — the moment its first real piece is published into it, whichever year or department that happens to be first.
