BHMS — Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery, at our colleges

This is the header for the BHMS half of the Courses page — the section that maps the Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery as it’s actually taught across our network.

BHMS runs five and a half years, including a compulsory internship year, at the twelve colleges of our Uttar Pradesh network — nine government and three private, all affiliated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur. On this platform, each of those years has its own page, and within each year, every subject taught that year has its own room: a place where notes, explainers and study pieces for exactly that year and exactly that subject gather as they’re written.

That structure is deliberate. A First Professional student and a Fourth Professional student are studying entirely different material, and a piece written for one year’s Materia Medica shouldn’t have to compete for space with another year’s. Tagging a piece with its year and its subject is what puts it in the right room automatically — and because subjects like Materia Medica, Organon and Repertory are also general Knowledge topics, the same piece surfaces there too, for anyone reading who isn’t enrolled in that particular year.

The five years break down as the NCH curriculum itself sets them out: the First Professional runs eighteen months across eight subjects, the Second Professional twelve months across nine, the Third Professional twelve months across seven, and the Fourth (Final) Professional twelve months across six — followed by twelve months of compulsory rotatory internship, after which the BHMS degree is awarded once every examination and the internship itself are complete. What you won’t find yet in every room is content — the rooms are built and named, and they fill in the order the community writes them. A room with nothing in it yet is simply one whose turn hasn’t come.
