Publish With Us — write for the community

This page explains how to write for Homoeopaths.org, and it sets the terms plainly rather than leaving contributors to guess what will and won’t run.

The journal, the magazine, and the wider community shelves are written by students, practitioners and teachers, not by a closed editorial team. If you have something worth reading — study notes, a review, a college story, a profile — it belongs here as much as anything written in-house.

What gets published follows a short, firm set of rules. Writing should be first-hand: study notes, reviews, college stories and profiles written by someone who was there or who studied it directly, not summarised secondhand. Sources should be named — the books, papers and editions a piece draws from, so a reader can check them. No piece promises a cure, and none pairs a medicine with a condition to treat; patient testimonials aren’t published either, whatever form they take. And nothing runs as promotion: a piece about a practitioner is a story, not an advertisement, and if it could pass as a clinic’s promotion with the names swapped in, it doesn’t run. Every published piece carries its author’s real name and the date it went up.

Sending something in is simple: email a draft — a Google Doc, a Word file, or plain text — with two lines about yourself, to info@homoeopaths.org.

What happens after that isn’t automatic. A draft is read against the rules above before anything is published, the same way a practitioner’s registration is checked before their listing goes live. That review isn’t there to gatekeep good writing — it exists so that everything carrying the Homoeopaths.org name, whatever room it lands in, meets the same standard: honest, sourced where it needs to be, and never a promotion wearing a story’s clothes.

Where a piece ends up depends on what it is. Scholarship with named sources belongs on the Journal shelf; features, profiles and campus stories belong on the Magazine shelf; either way, once it’s published it carries the published-with-us tag and is indexed here, alongside its author’s name and the date it went up.

Pieces that have already been published through this route are indexed below, and the shelf grows as more of the community sends their writing in.
