What happens at a members’ meet

What happens at a members' meet | Homoeopaths.org

The honest answer first. Nothing has happened at a Homoeopaths.org members’ meet yet, because there has not been one. The Homoeopathic Members Meet is planned, but it has not been scheduled.

So this piece cannot describe a past event. There are no photos, no talks to report, no crowd to count. What it can do is explain what a members’ meet is meant to be, what it will not be, and how you will know when the first one is real.

What a members’ meet is

In our own words, it is “a gathering of our members, in person”.

Most of this platform works on screens. You find your batch, read notices, study in a subject room, or look up a verified practitioner. All of that is useful. But some things happen better when people are in the same room. Meeting the students from another college. Putting a face to a name. Talking about the course, or about practice, over tea.

A members’ meet is for that. It is the in-person side of a community that mostly lives online.

Who it is for

The meet is for members of the platform. That means the students and practitioners who have joined through Membership. It is not a public event, and it is not aimed at care-seekers.

This follows one of our founding values. Students, practitioners and care-seekers belong to the same platform, but not always the same room. A members’ meet is one of those rooms.

What we expect it to include

We will not promise a programme that does not exist. But here is the kind of thing a meet like this is for:

  • meeting members from other colleges and batches.
  • conversations about study and practice, among people who share the field.
  • hearing from members about their work, or the community’s work.
  • simply spending time together.

The exact format, how often meets happen, and where they are held are all open questions. They will be answered when there are real answers.

Why it is not scheduled yet

A real gathering needs real planning. Our network is rooted in colleges across Uttar Pradesh. Choosing a place means thinking about who can actually reach it, and when. Students have exams and practicals. Practitioners have clinic hours.

We would rather wait and get it right than announce a date and keep changing it. When a date exists, it will be a real one.

What a members’ meet will not be

It will not be a recruitment drive. It will not be a sales event. Nobody will be pushed to buy anything or sign up for anything. And it will not be a place where health advice is given out to the public. Members attend because they want to.

How you will know when it is real

The meet has its own page, in the Community section of the site, under “Homoeopathic Members Meet”. When there is a date, a place and a way to register, they will be posted there first. Every later notice about the meet will be listed on that page too.

Nothing before it is real. That is how every announcement on this platform works.

What you can do in the meantime

Two things are open right now.

Membership explains what membership is and how to join. If you want to be part of the first meet, being a member is the first step.

Webinars & Workshops carries the live sessions that are already running. If you want to meet people in the community sooner, this is the closest thing to a gathering today, even if it is on a screen.

When the first meet does happen, we hope to write a very different version of this piece. One with a date, a place, and a real answer to the question in the title.
